Scholarships for Faculty Development
The Institute of Space Technology (IST) invites application for its Faculty Development Program (FDP) to upgrade the quality of its faculty to meet its continuously growing requirements. Under the FDP initiative, fully funded doctoral level scholarships are being announced in the following fields:

Requirements:
The aspiring applicants must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:
- Pakistani nationals
- Minimum sixteen years of education in the fields mentioned against each Discipline
- First division in the last degree as per requirement
- Maximum one 2nd division and no 3rd division in the entire academic career
- Not less than 50% marks in the entire academic career
- Not less than 1.8 CGPA and 2.8 CGPA out of 4 and 5 respectively in the entire academic career
- Maximum age should be 35 years and relaxable to 40 years only for regular employees of the Public Sector University/ DAIs and R & D institutions. The age will be calculated on the closing date of the application
- Candidates already availing HEC, University/ DAI, Departmental or any other scholarship(s) are not eligible
- Awardees must serve in the institution for atleast 5 years after completion of the studies
- Minimum 50% marks in GAT test to qualify for short listing for the interview
Procedure:
Apply on the standard faculty application form (available on IST website) along with non-refundable processing fee of Rs 500 in the form of pay order/ demand draft in favour of IST
Attach following documents along with the prescribed application form and fee:
- CV/Resume
- Attested photocopy of CNIC
- Attested photocopies of all educational degrees/ certificates
- Most recent four photographs
- One page ‘Statement of Purpose’ related to applicants aspiration to study for doctoral degree in a particular field of study
- Brief description of research interest
- NOC from the employer (For in-service candidates)
- Valid and acceptable NTS GAT score (taken on / after 01 January 2006)
- Three letters of reference from the academic/ research supervisors
Notes:
- The short listed candidates will be invited for interview
- The selected candidates will be offered a faculty position on which they would be required to join IST
- These faculty members would be required to complete all admission requirements of respective/ selected universities by the notified deadlines
- Upon admission, they will be offered scholarships, which will cover full tuition and maintenance for the duration of the degree program
- The faculty availing the scholarship would be required to execute a bond to serve IST for a period of not less than five years after successful completion of studies
- The first batch of scholars will commence studies from Fall 2007 (Aug 2007) semester
Deadline:
Application Forms complete in all respect, should reach the office stated below latest by 10 January 2007. Incomplete applications will not be entertained
