Systems Engineering? 
Aerospace Engineering is an emerging field of the new millennium. Presently, Pakistan has shortage of Aerospace Engineers and most of the seats reserved for Aerospace Engineers are vacant and very few Aerospace Engineers are coming from abroad to fulfill the needs.
Like wise Electrical Engineering has a vast market nationally and internationally. The Engineers in these fields are hired in Government Sector on enhanced pay scales.

IST has its own university charter which requires no
affiliation with any university.

PEC recognize the Institute? 
Aerospace Engineering and Communication Systems Engineering
that the institute offers are duly accredited by the Pakistan Engineering
Council (PEC).

IST have enough qualified faculty? 
Yes, IST has enough highly
qualified and experienced faculty in the respective
areas.

Yes, IST already has well furnished laboratories to support the
programs. Specialized laboratories are also being established.

Yes, IST has a modern computer classroom equipped with state of
art computers. The classroom is complemented by a 24 x 7 computer lab and
Internet Cafe to provide internet facility.

IST have a library? 
Yes, IST has a resourceful library with sufficient current
editions of books, reference material to support the programs, which is
constantly updated. Library is also subscribing more than 16 periodicals and on
line professional publications.
What
are the criteria for awarding scholarships? 
This is decided by the Board of Directors on merit basis.
What
would be the strength of a class? 
There will be forty (40) students admitted to each program.
What
are the prospects of higher education? 
The IST programs are accredited nationally and internationally
and the student shall have no difficulty in getting admissions abroad.
How
can I come to IST campus? 
From Islamabad: On Islamabad Highway heading towards Lahore, after
crossing the Swan River bridge, the IST sign board
is visible further a kilometer and half from the
bridge. Using public transport, take Route 111
van to Rawat and drop off at IST stop.
From Rawalpindi: On GT Road heading towards Lahore, take turn on
Islamabad Highway just before Rawat. IST is 700
meters from the Toll Plaza on Islamabad Highway.
Using public transport, take VARAN 7-B to Rawat
and drop off at Islamabad Highway turn. IST campus
is on a walking distance from the stop.
What
is the System of Education at IST? 
IST follows the semester system. Each program is of eight
semesters and each semester is of eighteen weeks duration. There will be two
semesters in each year.
Are
DAEs eligible for admission? 
Yes, there are limited seats for DAEs.
Are
Intermediates in Computer Science (ICS) eligible
for admission? 
No, students with HSSC (Phy, Maths and Computer) are not
eligible to apply for any program.
What
subjects are required for A-level applicants? 
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. |
