Away from congestion, noise and pollution of the twin cities, at 30 minutes drive from Islamabad and Rawalpindi, having multiple access through Islamabad Highway and GT Road, IST is located in the Capital Territory of Pakistan. This advantageous location affords round the clock accessibility through public and private transportation.
Spanning over 80 kanals of picturesque expanse of greenery, the campus features wide lawns, spacious parking and playgrounds. This tranquil environment makes it ideal for situating a seat of higher learning.

Current and Envisaged IST Campus: Campus Additional and most relevant disciplines are planned to be added in the near future in pursuit of setting up a higher seat of learning in the region, particularly in the Islamic world to attract foreign students as well: -

Academic Block
Amidst the green spaces a compact purpose-built, double storied, centrally air conditioned building with covered area of 5384 sqm is available. It houses administrative and faculty offices, class rooms, lecture theatres, teaching and research laboratories, Information Technology Center, Library, Conference Room, Auditorium, Common Rooms and Exhibition Area.

Auditorium
Aesthetically designed, fully air-conditioned auditorium with a capacity of 230 is located adjacent to the entrance lobby of the Academic Block. Various national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops are organized by inviting dignitaries and professionals. The auditorium is equipped with most modern audio-visual systems.

Lecture Theatres & Class Rooms
All lecture theatres and classrooms are centrally air-conditioned, well-lit and equipped with training aids and multimedia facilities. Lecture theatre can accommodate 50 students, whereas classroom has a capacity of 30 students each with ample free space. A class of about 30 students ensures individual attention and close interaction between teachers and students.

Computer Theatre & Computer Rooms
Dedicated classrooms with a computer for each individual student are available for computer based training. The computers are networked to server and overhead video projection system to enable interactive, hands-on training on computational and professional software learning skills. A 24x7 computer laboratory with a number of computers with internet connection is available for assignments and projects.

Specialized Laboratories
The academic program is supported by laboratories equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment. Multiple equipment and instruments are available to ensure hands-on training of each individual student. In addition to the labs for IT, Electronics, Instrumentation, some of the high end laboratories include,

Teaching Assistants
A permanent member of the Institute’s academic staff, knowledgeable and experienced in research work, is assigned to assist and advise students in each course. The TAs act as a resource to help students in academic problems throughout the course in regularly held help sessions and office hours.

Information Resource Center
Information Resource Centre is integrated with digital technology and electronic information resources. There is an active and continuous development program for the IRC. It has a dynamic collection of books, journals, magazines related to the two disciplines and are supplemented by the availability of a Xeroxing facility. The core design, furniture and general decor contribute to the formation of an intellectual environment that attracts students to study with concentration.

General Collection: IST has a collection of more than 3500 current editions of books on every subject that is relevant to the courses taught at the Institute. Moreover, a balanced collection of books on Islam, Pakistan and other disciplines are also housed.
Reference Section: The reference section has over 500 references in the form of books, journals, handbooks, encyclopedia, etc.
Periodicals: IRC is currently subscribing more than 40+ periodicals to meet the requirements of researcher, faculty and students.
Audio Visual Collection: Audio-visual material is considered an essential medium of instruction. IRC has a collection of videos and related audio/video devices.
Online Resources: To enrich the library collection with latest online resources available through Internet, professional publications from AIAA, IEEE and ASME are also accessible.
Medium of Instruction: The medium of Instruction is English.
