What is the scope of Aerospace Engineering and Electrical Engineering?

Aerospace Engineering is an emerging field of the new millennium. Presently, Pakistan has shortage of Aerospace Engineers and most of the seats reserved for Aerospace Engineers are vacant and very few Aerospace Engineers are coming from abroad to fulfill the needs.
Like wise Electrical Engineering has a vast market nationally and internationally. The Engineers in these fields are hired in Government Sector on enhanced pay scales.

Does the institute provide hostel facility?
IST provides furnished hostel facility for boys and girls.
Does the institute have affiliation with any university?
IST has its own university charter which requires no affiliation with any university.
Does PEC recognize the Institute?
Aerospace Engineering and Communication Systems Engineering that the institute offers are duly accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Does IST have enough qualified faculty?
Yes, IST has enough highly qualified and experienced faculty in the respective areas.
Does IST have proper lab facilities?
Yes, IST already has well furnished laboratories to support the programs. Specialized laboratories are also being established.
Does IST have sufficient computer facilities?
Yes, IST has a modern computer classroom equipped with state of art computers. The classroom is complemented by a 24 x 7 computer lab and Internet Cafe to provide internet facility.
Does IST have a library?
Yes, IST has a resourceful library with sufficient current editions of books, reference material to support the programs, which is constantly updated. Library is also subscribing more than 16 periodicals and on line professional publications.
What are the criteria for awarding scholarships?
This is decided by the Board of Directors on merit basis.
Are Intermediates in Computer Science (ICS) eligible for admission?

Students with HSSC/ A-Level/ Equivalent (Phy, Maths and Computer) are eligible to apply for the program of BS (Space Science) only.

What would be the strength of a class?
There will be forty (40) students admitted to each program.
What are the prospects of higher education?
The IST programs are accredited nationally and internationally and the student shall have no difficulty in getting admissions abroad.

What is the System of Education at IST?
IST follows the semester system. Each program is of eight semesters and each semester is of eighteen weeks duration. There will be two semesters in each year.
Are DAEs eligible for admission?
Yes, there are limited seats for DAEs.

What subjects are required for A-level applicants?
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Does PEC recognize the Institute?

All engineering programs of IST are duly accredited/approved by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

IST conducts its own entry test?
No, IST doesn’t conduct its own entry test. IST accept NAT/ HAT/ SAT-II score which is conducted by NTS/ HEC/ College board.
Which category of NAT/ HAT/ SAT is acceptable to apply for undergraduate programs offered by IST?
The result of NAT-1E conducted by NTS from July 01, 2017 to June 30, 2018 with ≥ 50% score is acceptable to apply for all undergraduate programs offered by IST.
The result of NAT-1CS conducted by NTS from July 01, 2017 to June 30, 2018 with ≥ 50% score is only acceptable to apply for BS Space Science (Non-Engineering program) offered by IST.
The result of the HAT-UG-E announced/ available before June 30, 2018 with ≥ 50% score is acceptable to apply for all undergraduate programs offered by IST.
The result of the HAT-UG-CS announced/ available before June 30, 2018 with ≥ 50% score is only acceptable to apply for BS Space Science (Non-Engineering program) offered by IST.
The result of SAT II (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics level–II) test with at-least 50% marks in each subject announced/ available before June 30, 2018 is acceptable to apply for all undergraduate programs offered by IST.
I have appeared for NAT/ HAT but I do not receive result card yet issued by NTS/ HEC. What should I do?
Please get a print of your result card from NTS/HEC website on/before the closing date to apply for admission in IST and attach/upload with your online application form.
Can I edit information my online application form?
Yes, you can edit your online application form and attach documents by using your log-in information till closing date to apply for admission in IST.
Is it mandatory to deposit application processing fee?
Yes, it is mandatory to deposit application processing fee in any online branch of HBL otherwise your application will not be processed/considered for admission in IST.
How it will be confirmed that whether my application processing fee has been received at IST? Or I have to send copy of Paid Challan form to IST.
Nothing is required to send IST. Your fee status will be automatically updated on your application form within next 4 to 5 working days after deposit of application processing fee at any online branch of HBL. You can log-in and check the status.
What should I do if I have paid application processing but my fee status is not updated on online application form?
You are required to email scan copy of paid challan form at “info@ist.edu.pk” before the closing date to apply for admission in IST.
Is it mandatory to attach the documents with online application form?
Yes, it is mandatory to attach the desired documents with your online application form otherwise your application will not be processed/considered for admission in IST.
I have lost one of the documents which are required to attach with online application form. What should I do?
Apply for duplicate copy from concerned board. Meanwhile you can download your result card from website of concerned board and attached with your online application form.
I have lost my FSC (Part-1) result card but I have FSC (part-1 + part 2 combined) final result card. What should I do?

Please upload FSC final result card with your online application form.

I have overall 60% score in FSC but I have less than 60% marks in one of the major subjects mentioned in eligibility criteria. Am I eligible for admissions in engineering programs of IST?

No! You are not eligible for admission in engineering programs of IST however you may apply for BS Space Science (non-engineering program) of IST.

I have overall 60% marks as per A-Levels Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC but I have less than C grade in one of the major subjects mentioned in eligibility criteria. Am I eligible for admissions in IST?

No! You are not eligible for admission in engineering programs of IST however you may apply for BS Space Science (non-engineering program) of IST.

Is it mandatory to have valid NAT/ HAT/ SAT-II score to apply for admission in IST?

Yes, it is mandatory to have valid NAT/ HAT/ SAT-II score because it has 40% weightage in merit for Pre-engineering students and 60% weightage for A-Level student.

What I have to mention of admission form if my guardian don’t have (National Tax Number) NTN?

Mention NTN number of your guardian, if available, otherwise leave that cell empty.

What does it mean by Guardian?

A guardian is a person who are looking after you in terms of taking your care, paying your educational expenses etc.

In 1st year of FSC (Pre-engineering), my score in Math or physics or Chemistry is less than 60%. Can I apply for admission in engineering programs of IST?

If you are sure that you will be able to improve your score in major subjects as per eligibility criteria mentioned on IST website, then you may apply for admission in engineering programs of IST based on your score in FSC (Part-1).

My aggregate score in 1st year is less than 60%. Can I apply for admission in IST?

If you are sure that you will be able to improve your score after FSC, as per eligibility criteria mentioned on IST website, then you may apply for admission in IST based on your score in FSC (Part-1).

In A-Levels, I don’t have C Grade in Physics or Mathematics or Chemistry. Can I apply for admission in IST?

For A-Level students, it is mandatory to have at least C Grade each in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry to apply for admission in engineering programs of IST. However you may apply for admission in BS Space Science (non-engineering program) of IST.

Is it mandatory for O-Level students to obtain equivalence certificate from IBCC before the closing date of application to apply for admission in IST?

Yes, it is mandatory for O-Level students to obtain equivalence certificate from IBCC and upload with online application form before the closing date of application to apply for admission in IST.

Is it mandatory for A-Level students to obtain equivalence certificate from IBCC before the closing date of application to apply for admission in IST?

Yes, it is mandatory if an applicant have already passed A-Level exam. In other case a student can obtain A-Level equivalence certificate after the announcement of results.

I have completed FSC. Can I mention the overall score of FSC?

You are required to mention the score of FSc (Part-1) because as per eligibility criteria, merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in FSc (Part-1).

I have already completed FSC. Can I apply for admission in IST?

Yes, you can apply for admission in IST but remember the eligibility criteria. You must have over all 60% score in FSC and must also have 60% marks each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Also remember that you are required to mention the marks of FSc (Part-1) in online application form because merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in FSc (Part-1).

When my application will be processed?

If you have deposit application processing fee then please wait. Your application will be processed soon.

When and where merit lists are displayed?

Merit lists are displayed on IST website within one week after the closing date to apply for admission in IST.

Is it required to send hard copy of online application form/ Challan Form or documents to IST?

You are required to upload desired documents with your online admission form. Do not send application form or any other document to IST.

What is the last date to deposit application processing fee?

Last date to deposit application processing fee is same as closing date to apply for admission in IST.

What have to mention by O-Level or A-Level students on online application form where Reference Number is required?

Reference Number is mentioned just below the line where obtained marks by the student are mentioned on equivalence certificate.

What have to mention by O-Level or A-Level students on online application form where Serial Number is required?

Serial Number is given on top right corner of equivalence certificate.

What have to mention by FSC students on online application form where Registration Number is required?

FSc students are required to mention registration number issued by concerned board.

Can I edit information in my online application form after submission?

Yes, you can edit/update your online application form up to closing date to apply for admission in IST by using your log-in details. In the same way, you can also upload or replace existing documents which are attached with your online application form. When you will upload new documsnt, the previous one will be deleted automatically.

I have error in my email address or CNIC number. How I can rectify it?

You are required to send an email at info@ist.edu.pk highlighting the problem which you are facing while creating log in or accessing your online application form

I have completed my FSC (pre-medical) and appearing/appeared for additional math paper. Can I apply for admission in IST?

Yes, you can apply for admission in IST based on your score in FSC pre-medical (part-1).
